Work It, Girl: Oprah Winfrey: Run the show like CEO

Work It, Girl: Oprah Winfrey: Run the show like CEO

Caroline Moss
Frances Lincoln Childrens Books
ISBN: 9781786037350

The Work It, Girl series (currently consisting of books about Oprah Winfrey and JK Rowling) is a motivational and inspiring series written by Caroline Moss and beautifully illustrated by Sinem Erkas.

These informative biographies are written in a friendly, conversational tone and text that is not so dense as to discourage younger readers, interspersed with quotes from the great women themselves. There is an excellent balance between the text and the images and the paper cut style of illustration brings an overall 3D effect to each book.

Follow the real life stories of these modern role models and their rise to best-selling author and billionaire CEO, then apply the lessons to be learnt at the end of the book to your own life. Lessons such as persistence, kindness and self-belief.

Additional pages suggest further reading and pose questions to support reflection and interaction which makes this series good for reading groups, research projects or perhaps PSHE-based activities. These are wonderful books aimed at children aged 7-11.
